The Story within - April 20 - 24, 2026
A restorative creative escape designed for content creators who want uninterrupted time to think clearly, write deeply and leave with finished work — not just ideas.
If you’ve been meaning to write…. to create…. to finally finish all those half-started ideas sitting in your notes app…
This is your invitation to step away and give yourself the space to do it properly.
This April, I’m hosting a small and nourishing Writers Retreat in Somerset, designed especially for content creators, storytellers and creative minds who want uninterrupted time to think clearly and create meaningful work.
No pressure.
No noise.
Just calm mornings, countryside walks, cosy corners, and dedicated time to write.
Time to batch your content.
Time to shape your ideas.
Time to reconnect with your voice.
Over the weekend you’ll enjoy:
• focused writing sessions
• gentle structure and prompts
• beautiful food and good company
• walks in nature to spark creativity
• quiet space to concentrate
• and the kind of environment where words flow more easily
You’ll leave not just inspired — but with real work created and clarity about what you want to share next.

Meet Your Practitioner:
Alison Kervin
Alison is not only a #1 Amazon bestselling novelist — she is a trailblazing journalist and former Sports Editor of The Mail on Sunday, where she became the first woman in the UK to hold that position. With a media career spanning The Times, The Telegraph, and Rugby World, Alison has also written over a dozen books under her own name and the pseudonym Bernice Bloom, and she currently runs Gold Medals Media, offering high-level media strategy to global brands and individuals.
She’s interviewed everyone from Sean Connery to Prince Edward and earned the respect of figures like Baroness Brady, Sir Clive Woodward, and Lord Sebastian Coe for her role in breaking gender barriers in both journalism and sport.
Alison’s mentoring brings not just writing expertise, but also an empowering perspective on confidence, creative resilience, and how to use your voice — no matter what your background.
"She has done as much over the years for battling females as any woman since Boadicea." – The Spectator
What You'll Experience
This is not a retreat where you’ll sit in lectures or feel creatively “boxed in.” Instead, it’s a nurturing, immersive environment built to help you move through blocks and into flow.
Each day includes:
Morning guided meditation and creative intention-setting
Two 2-hour self-led writing sessions with guidance from Alison
1:1 mentoring and feedback tailored to your project and goals
Networking and some wine with like minded people
A scenic countryside hike to get grounded and inspired
Group meals and storytelling circles to connect with fellow writers
Optional yoga, breathwork, and floating sound baths in the pool
This retreat is designed to nourish your creative soul while supporting your physical and emotional well-being. You’ll leave with tools to help you write more clearly, more confidently, and more consistently — long after the retreat ends.
